Title: Chentcherere Rock Shelters with Paintings
Description: These are found at six rock shelters on the Chentcherere hill North of Dedza district. Located within the core zone of Chongoni Rock Art World Heritage site, the shelters contain two types of paintings; red and white. Red paintings are older than the white since the red are beneath the red ones. The red paintings are believed to have been made by the Batwa from as early as the 16th century while the white one are believed to have been by the Banthu speaking people.
